Janet Lee Ireland

Notes by James F High III

Janet was married twice and both husbands had the last name of High. This is very odd because High is not a common name.

My brother Raymond High just told me that the reason he and Janet never adopted her girls was that because they allready had the name of High therefor they didn't see a reason to adopt them.

I will also say that from my perspective, Raymond is as close to Janets girls as if they were his biological daughters.

Ray E. Roberts

The following is an email from Ray's wife Peggy to James F. High III
Don't know if you have corresponded with Ray lately or if you knew he was very ill. I wanted to let you know that he passed away on July 16. He was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in November of last year. We now know he has had the disease for several years but all the doctors thought his shortness of breath was due to his heart problems. He went to a new heart doctor last November and he is the one who diagnosed his disease. He had been going to a lung doctor for six months and he didn’t even diagnose it. When we went back to this lung doctor, he told us there was nothing that could be done for Ray because there is no cure for this disease. Consequently, I lost all faith in this doctor so we started going to a lung doctor in Waco in January. This doctor didn’t give us much hope but he did put Ray on some medications that I believe prolonged his life. He started getting much worse on July 10 and his doctor recommended I call in Hospice. They were to come out on July 14, but he had a slight stroke that morning and was taken to the hospital in College Station. They did get him stabilized but he took a turn for the worse early Tuesday morning and died the next morning. Ray was happy that he meet you and your brother and about your family connection. I thought I was strong and prepared but have found I’m not. It’s very hard. I miss him so much. Peggy
